Badminton Canada imposing international event registration & CADP fee

Staring January 1, 2015 Badminton Canada will adopt the 2015 Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP). The changes in the CADP are very significate and will require additional resources to manage. This includes the creation of a National Athletes Pool (NAP), management of player contracts in the NAP, management of Therapeutic Exemptions (TUEs) of all players in the NAP, management of drug education of the players in the NAP, and a financial outlay to support increased testing.

In order to manage these new responsibilities and Badminton Canada will adopt the following measures.

  1. That all players wishing to play any international event must pay a yearly:
    • $150 international management fee and;
    • $100 CADP management fee to Badminton Canada.
    • Both fees are mandatory.
  2. Payment of the fees must be made before a player is entered into any international event in the calendar year the event is being held.
  3. The fees will be waived for National Team Athletes.
  4. The fees will be waived for players with a top 100 ranking on the 1st  of January.

Payment of the fees can be made at http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/tournament.aspx?id=67D274B3-F2BF-43D2-B0E8-2F9D2F7ABDA4
