Badminton Alberta executive director Jeff Bell accepts a cheque for $50,000 in support of the Shuttle Time School Program from Alana DeLong, MLA Calgary-Bow.
The funds will be matched by Badminton Alberta to implement a province-wide initiative to provide training and coaching resources to elementary and junior high school teachers, enabling them to provide quality badminton instruction to grades 1-9.
Badminton Alberta held a tutors training course in late November, with 7 individuals becoming qualified to lead upcoming trainer courses. Badminton Alberta staff are currently engaged with staff of The Sport Academy, putting the finishing touches on a new web-based platform that will deliver a blended learning experience for teachers and coaches interested in using Shuttle Time in the classroom or club setting.
