The association will announce the long list of eligible team members following the Alberta Junior Provincials held March 27-29 at Olds College.  The Competition and Coaching Committee will recommend to the Board of Directors a list of twelve male and twelve female athletes to comprise the Team Alberta Selection Pool.

Final selection to Team Alberta 2015 will be as follows:

Event winners of the U20 2015 Alberta Junior Provincials will be automatically selected, accounting for a maximum of four male and four females, providing they are age eligible:

The association will use a points system to grade the performance of each athlete at a minimum of three competitions to fill the remaining positions.  A players best 2 event results will be used to establish a ranking list.  This list will be used to select all but one position per gender.
The player with the highest 2 event score will be selected first.  If there is a tie, the player with the highest points in singles will be selected first.  If both players did not achieve a result in singles then the tie-breaker will be determined with a preference of doubles ahead of mixed doubles.

The fifth and final position may be selected by the Selection Committee (comprised of the Coach, Manager, and Executive Director) with a U15 or U17 athlete demonstrating superior skills not selected through Priority #1 or #2.  This opportunity has been made available to identify younger players (s) capable of providing leadership at future Games.  If the fifth athlete is not selected from the U15/17 age categories, then the selection will be determined from the Points Chart ranking list.

The alternate will be selected from the Points Chart ranking list according to the process identified in Priority #2.
If, for any reason a position becomes vacant (ie injury, lack of commitment to the program, etc) the Selection Committee will be empowered to fill the position.  The final decision will be based upon each individual’s ability to assist the team in reaching its goal – “Winning the Gold Medal”.

Athletes selected to Team Alberta '2015 will be expected to make themselves available for all team commitments including competitions and training.
