Ranking & Seeding Guidelines amended

Badminton Alberta Board of Directors approved a revision to the Ranking & Seeding Guidelines during their conference call of 20 January 2015.

The fundamental change involves the use of the POINTS column instead of the AVERAGE POINTS column when preparing the list of seeds for sanctioned Alberta tournaments. The POINTS column is a reflection of the athletes best three results within that discipline and within the same age category.

The Board also approved the revision which allows an athletes best three results, regardless of age category to be used when preparing the list of seeds. The new ruling now allows athletes an opportunity to play outside of their age category to obtain higher level competition, and in doing, the ability for those results to be eligible for seeding calculations.
