Badminton Canada regulation changes for 2015-16 competitive season

Badminton Canada would like to announce the following regulation changes for the 2015-16 competitive season. Athletes and parents are asked to review and understand each of the changes. Questions can be directed to the office of Badminton Alberta.

Tournament Registration

  • Yonex Junior and Senior Elite Series

The registration deadline for all Yonex Junior and Senior Elite Series events is now three weeks prior to the start of the tournament. The change has been made to ensure adequate time to publish the seeding, draws and timing of the events and allow for an appeals on these aspects of the tournament to be heard without creating undue hardships for all the competitors at the event.

  • Yonex Senior National Championship and Yonex U23/Junior National Championship

All player registration for the Yonex Senior National Championship and Yonex U23/Junior National Championship will register with the Provincial / Territorial Badminton Organization. Provincial / Territorial Badminton Organization will open the registration for these two championships a minimum of 6 weeks before the first day of the championship and close registration no later than 4 weeks before the start of the championship.

  • U15 age group pilot - Yonex Junior Elite Series

Badminton Canada is continuing our pilot of the U15 age group at the Yonex Junior Elite Series events.
