2010 Alberta Winter Games - Zone Trials

Zone Trials information

Zone Trials will be held in each of the ASRPWF identified zones during November or early December.

Format of Trials: will consist of singles and doubles play only. There will be no mixed doubles. Pool qualifying will lead to single elimination playoffs. The winner of singles and the winner of doubles will be automatcially selected. Any unfilled positions will be selected using a points system from the combination of singles and doubles results. Therefore all players should enter both singles and doubles. If you do not have a doubles partner, please note REQUEST in your entry and an attempt will be made to provide you with a partner.

Zone trials will be limited to one day. 

Confirmed Zone trials:

  • Zone 1 - Friday, December 11 - Senior Centre" 500-11 Street South, Lethbridge from 5-8pm
  • Zone 2 - Saturday, December 5 - Edison Badminton Centre from 10am - 3pm
  • Zone 3 - Monday, December 7 - Mount Royal University (Stanley Gym) from 6:00 - 10:45pm
  • Zone 4 - Sunday, December 6 - Caroline School from 10am - 3pm
  • Zone 5 - Sunday, December 6 at Red Willow Badminton Club, St Albert from 10am - 3pm
  • Zone 6 - Sunday, December 13 at Royal Glenora Club, Edmonton from 2pm - 6pm
  • Zone 7 - Saturday, November 7 at JJ Parr Sports & Recreation Centre, Cold Lake from 10am - 4pm (Completed)
  • Zone 8 - Sunday, November 22 at Glenmarry School, Peace River from 10am - 3pm (Completed)

Zone Team Size: A total of four boys and four girls in the u17 age category (Born in 1993 or later) will be selected in each zone. 

Eligibility: Athletes must only try-out in one zone, that being, the zone their reside within.

Registration fee: The cost of zone trials will be $20 for Badminton Alberta members, non-members must purchase a BASIC membership for $17.50. Registration will be by on-line entry only.

Registration deadline: 5 days before the specific Zone trial.
