The Alberta High Performance camp has been designed for athletes in the 'Training to Train' and 'Training to Compete' stages of the Long Term Athlete Development model. Therefore we will accepting registrations from athletes between 14 - 19 years of age.
This camp should be of interest to athletes representing Canada at the 2012 Pan Americn Junior Championships, those athletes representing Alberta at the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games, athletes from northern Alberta selected to Team Alberta North for the 2014 Arctic Winter Games, and provincial level athletes looking to represent their zone at the 2014 Alberta Winter Games.
Accommodation for athletes and coaches will be at the Frank Grisdale Hall of Olds College. Two athletes will share a double room and utilize shared washroom facilities of the Student Residence. Athletes will be required to supply their own sleeping bag, pillow, towels and personal grooming supplies (soap, shampoo, etc.). Athletes and coaches will eat at the College Cafeteria, located within a five-minute walk of the Ralph Klein Centre.
On-court sessions will occur on-site in the modern air-conditioned eleven-court gymnasium, located within a five-minute walk of the Student Residence and the College Cafeteria. On occasion we will leave the campus and venture into downtown Olds, therefore you should be prepared for an evening out consisting of dinner and a movie or bowling. We will also spend one afternoon at the pool, please bring suitable attire.
Coaches: Billy Gilliland, Level 4 National Coach, former world #1 mixed doubles player, Commonwealth Games men's doubles gold medalist and Ardy Wiranata, former #1 men's singles player in the world from Indonesia.
Cost: $700 + $35 GST (Price includes room & board for 5 nights). Full payment is required at the time of registration. The camp is limited to the first 45 athletes. No refunds after July 1st, without a note from your doctor. All other refunds will be subject to an admin fee of $100.
