CONDITIONS: The tournament is open to athletes born in 1993 or later (u19) and 1996 or later (u16) who are members in good standing of a provincial or territorial badminton association that is affiliated with Badminton Canada or to foreign athletes who are members in good standing of their National Badminton Association. The tournament will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada and the Badminton World Federation.
ENTRY FEE: The entry fee of $85.00 per competitor must be paid on-line using a credit card at the time of registration. Entry fee includes shuttles and tournament souvenir. Enter on-line - http://www.badmintonalberta.ca
ENTRY DEADLINE: Entry form and method of payment must be received by Badminton Canada on or before 15 February. Only on-line entries will be accepted. Entries will not be refunded if cancelled after February 15, 2012.

TRANSPORTATION: The International Hotel Suites Calgary is serviced by the Allied Airport Shuttle at $15 per person – each way. Numerous rental car companies are available at the airport and within several blocks of the hotel.
CLOTHING: The Glencoe Club 'whites only' clothing regulation will be in effect, colored clothing will not be permitted. Colored shoes will be allowed as long as they are non-marking.
SHUTTLE: The official feather shuttle for the Black Knight Canadian Junior Elite Series is the Black Knight feather shuttle. All shuttles will be supplied.
EYEWEAR: The use of polycarbonate safety eyewear is strongly recommended.
EVENTS: Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Players may only enter one singles, one doubles and one mixed doubles event, regardless of age category. Single elimination main draw with consolation draws (time permitting) for athletes/pairs losing their first round match in each event.
Coaching of no more than 120 seconds between 1st and 2nd game and between 2nd and 3rd games will be permitted. No other coaching will be allowed. Ten minute default rule and three-minute warm-up will be strictly enforced.
SCORING: All matches will be played in the best 2 of 3 games using the BWF Rally Point Scoring System.
SEEDING & DRAWS: Seeding provided by Badminton Canada's Seeding Committee and draws prepared according to the Badminton Canada regulations.
MATCH TIMING: The 2012 Black Knight Alberta Junior Elite will incorporate timed draws to assist with athlete preparation. Match times will be displayed on each draw and should be used as approximate times only. All players must be in the hall no less than one hour prior to their scheduled match time, in case we are ahead of schedule. A player not ready to play ten minutes after his/her match is called will be defaulted.
COMPETITION VENUES: The 2012 Black Knight Alberta Junior Elite will be staged utilizing six (6) courts located at The Glencoe Club. All main round finals will be played on Sunday beginning at 0900 hrs.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: The main draw schedule is subject to change.
Friday, March 02 - 0900 hrs. - Registration begins at The Glencoe Club, Sports Entrance. Practice courts available at 0900 hrs.
Friday, March 02 - 1000 hrs. – First two rounds in singles followed by doubles and mixed doubles.
Saturday, March 03 - 0900 hrs. - Play resumes and continues throughout the day.
Sunday, March 04 - 0900 hrs. - FINALS - order to be determined by the Referee.

parent or legal guardian of the minor ____________________________________, have read and understood the conditions of entry to the 2012 Black Knight Alberta Junior Elite in Calgary and I agree that I carry the full responsibility for that person's actions while attending the event. I understand that signing this acknowledgement of the following tournament policy is a condition of entry for the above minor. Any illegal purchase, possession or consumption of alcohol or restricted drugs will be reported to the police; Destruction of public or private property will be reported to the police; Badminton Alberta's Discipline Committee and the Organizing Committee reserve the right to deny participation, without appeal to the minor at any time, if it is deemed reasonable that the words or actions of the minor may lead or have led to injury or are viewed as verbal abuse of another participant or official of the event.
