2015 Yonex Canadian National Badminton Championships
February 4 – February 7, 2015

VENUE: All tournament matches will be at the Gatineau Sports Centre. 850 Boulevard de la Gappe, Gatineau, Québec J8T 7T7

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for the Canadian National Badminton Championship, all athletes must meet the following requirements: 

  1. Must be a Canadian citizen (verifiable by passport or birth certificate) or have been a permanent resident of Canada for a minimum of 3 years. (Verifiable by permanent resident card) 
  2. Must be a member of a P/TSO.
  3. Must not have played in any badminton championships restricted to another country within one calendar year of the date of the event.


Adult competitors must sign a waiver form prior to the start of play. Waiver forms for minors, must be signed by a parent or guardian prior to the start of play.  The competition will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada and the BWF.

09:00 to 12:00 Qualifying matches (only if entry warrants). There will be qualifying for any draws with more than 64 entries in singles and 32 entries in doubles.

SPECTATORS

  • Wednesday - Free
  • Thursday - Free
  • Friday - Free
  • Saturday - $5 per person

EVENTS:

Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Consolations will be held for all competitors defeated in their first round match of the main event. It will be the responsibility of each athlete to notify the draw desk, within 30-minutes of their opening round defeat.

TOURNAMENT FEE:

Single Tournament Entry Fee of $155.00 includes :

  • All shuttles during tournament play
  • Participation in up to three events: singles, doubles and mixed
  • Social event: Saturday February 7th at 18:30 at the Gatineau Sports Centre -  Room 254. 850 Boulevard de la Gappe, Gatineau, Québec J8T 7T7.

Free for all players, referees and Umpires
$25 for all other individuals wishing to attend

Payment is required at time of on-line registration.

 

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

  • Refunds are provided less a 20% administration fee to entrants who withdraw prior to the entry deadline of the event. 
  • After the deadline, but prior to the draws being made, refunds are provided less a 50% administrative fee. 
  • Refunds will not be provided after the draws are made. 
  • Full refunds will be made for injuries that make it impossible for an athlete to compete provided documentation from a doctor is provided.

ENTRY DEADLINE:

  • The tournament entry deadline is Friday January 16th, 2015 at 11:59pm PST. 
  • Each player must complete their entry online at the link: TBA
  • Unpaid entries will not be included in the draws. 
  • Entries received via mail, fax or regular email will not be accepted.

LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

PRIZES AND SHUTTLES:

Medals will be provided to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 
Official shuttle will be YONEX feather shuttle. 
Shuttles will be provided for all matches.


SEEDING:

The seeding will be done by the BCAN seeding committee using the BCAN seeding regulations for Open events

RULES:

The 21- Rally Point scoring format will be utilized. Three-minute warm-up and ten minute default will be strictly enforced. The use of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play.
