CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The competition is open to athletes born in 2005 or later (U15), 2003 or later (U17), 2001 or later (U19), and 1997 or later (U23).
1) Athletes must be a Canadian citizen (verifiable by passport or birth certificate) or be a landed immigrant and have been a permanent resident of Canada for a minimum of 365 days (verifiable by permanent resident card)
2) Must not have played in any badminton championships restricted to another country within one calendar year of the date of the event; and
3) Have played or be registered to play in a Provincial/Territorial Championship prior to the National Championship.
4) Be a registered member in good standing with their provincial or territorial association

Unpaid entries will not be included in the draws. Late entries will be accepted until Friday April 26th 2019 and will be subject to a $50 late registration fee.
Events will be held in singles, doubles and mixed doubles for U15, U17, U19, and U23 age categories.
Consolations will be held for all competitors defeated in their first-round match of the main event. It will be the responsibility of each athlete to notify the draw desk, within 30-minutes of their opening round defeat. Consolation rounds offered time permitting.
The 21-Rally Point scoring format will be utilized.
Three-minute warm-up and ten-minute default will be strictly enforced. The use of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play.
Refunds are provided to participants, less a 25% administration fee, who withdraw prior to the entry deadline of the competition. After the entry deadline, but before the draws are made, refunds are provided les a 50% administration fee. Refunds will not be provided for withdrawals after the draws have been made.
Medals for winner, finalists, and third place finishers (there will be no 3/4 playoff)
Prizes for Consolation winners
BWF Regulations and the Badminton Canada Competition Uniform Regulations shall be followed. Use of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play.

Seeding done by Badminton Canada’s Seeding Committee and draws according to the Canadian regulations
Deadline for registration as a coach is April 26th, 2019. All coaches must comply with the Badminton Canada Coaching Certification Policy.
