The Badminton Academy Youth Program - Winter 2019
Badminton Alberta offers a number of programming choices for WINTER 2019 in the Calgary area for youth aged 6-17 years of age interested in pursuing badminton under the umbrella of The Badminton Academy.
Group lessons are available Saturday mornings and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday evenings at numerous locations throughout the city of Calgary.
The Badminton Academy provides the instructional component for the Calgary Youth Program operating in partnership with The City of Calgary Recreation department. Access to program information can be accessed by following these links:
Registrations are handled through Badminton Alberta staff by calling 403.297-2722 and quoting the course number specific to the time and venue of the program you are interested in. Registration for programs in the WINTER of 2019 will begin on November 30.
Badminton Alberta also provides badminton instruction for youth (6 to 17 yrs) through the Saturday morning lesson program at Mount Royal University in Calgary. The 12-week WINTER 2019 program will commence January 5 and conclude on April 27 with an in-club tournament. There will be no classes on Jan 12, Mar 23, Apr 6, 13 & 20. Badminton Alberta is excited to announce that they will also be offering badminton instruction for youth (6 to 17 yrs) through the Saturday morning lesson program at the University of Calgary. The Badminton Academy - Elite Training
The Badminton Academy also provides identified junior aged athletes the opportunity to train full time throughout the fall/winter/spring sessions.
Through the use of a talent identification process, The Badminton Academy's coaches make recommendations and present the opportunity for athletes to recieve additional weekly training. Selected athletes must make the commitment to attend all training sessions and participate in selected junior tournaments. Fees will not be pro-rated for classes missed.
At least one elite training groups will be formed: Saturdays at Mount Royal University & Mondays at the University of Calgary.
Badminton Alberta will hold try-outs on Saturday, September 10th at Mount Royal University from 8:30am-1:00pm. Athletes will be placed into one of three training groups based on the on-court assessment. For additional information and to register on-line.
