Dave McMaster joins Badminton Alberta effective January 15th.

Badminton Alberta is pleased to announce the hiring of Dave McMaster into the position of Shuttle Time Program Manager effective January 15th.

Dave brings over thirty years of coaching experience to the position. Dave previously coached at ClearOne Badminton Calgary in Calgary, Calgary Winter Club, and Derrick Golf & Winter Club in Edmonton. He served on Badminton Canada's board of directors as VP High Performance from 2004-2007, is a Designated Technician of Badminton World Federation and Mentor Coach Designate by the National Coaching Institute.

Dave is a certified level 4 coach, having graduated from the National Coaching Institute of Calgary in 1999. Dave was recognized by the Calgary Booster Club in 2005 as a Honored Athletic Leader.

Dave has recently received certification as a BWF Shuttle Time tutor, National Coaching Certification Program LF (Learning Facilitator), MLF (Master Learning Facilitator) and is currently engaged in the devolpment of Competition Development stage by CAC and Badminton Canada.

Dave's role with Badminton Alberta will focus on player and coach development. He will be piloting the new BWF Shuttle Time School program in the Calgary area, leading to province wide exposure in the fall of 2015. Dave is currently reviewing and developing the new Player Pathway focusing on long term athlete development and how it relates to Alberta's involvement with the Canada Winter Games.
