Badminton Alberta will be hosting Stage 1 zone trials on Saturday, May 9th in Fort McMurray and Sunday, May 10th in Fahler.
The Zone 8 trials will be held at Ecole Heritage in Fahler, while the Zone 7 trials will be held at MacDonald Island Rec Centre in Fort McMurray.
Athletes may only try-out in the zone in which they reside. To be eligible all athletes must reside above the 55th parallel.
Trials will consist of singles only competition in junior and juvenile age categories. To be eligible for junior - you must be born in 1997 or later, and for juvenile - you must be born in 2000 or later.
Each zone trials will select two athletes per gender in each age category, who will advance to Stage 2 trials to be held in Edmonton on June 6-7.
The cost to participate in the zone trials is $20 for BA members, or $40 for non-members.
