Coaching Update
These past few months have seen many exciting new initiatives launched within the country, and province. Here is a brief description of projects we are involved in, and their prescribed delivery dates:
Competition Development Pilot
This new technical module (old Level 3 technical) will be rolled out October 3 and 4 at Sunridge Badminton Club. All participants must be Comp/Intro (provincial) certified, or fully accredited at the old Level 2.
Comp Intro (Regional) courses
These new technical modules which replace the former Level 1 certification courses will be offered in both Calgary and Edmonton in the upcoming months.
Shuttle Time
Badminton Canada is currently in the process of adopting the BWF Shuttle Time program to align with the CAC instructional stream. Badminton Alberta has been instrumental in “Canadianizing” course content as well as piloting the program for the last 8 months. This school based instructional platform enables teachers to learn the basics of the sport, effectively utilizing court space and enhanced numbers of players. In addition to an in person delivery, Shuttle Time will offer downloadable resource material for all participants. Expected Delivery competition is January 2016.
