Badminton Alberta Individual Membership Information

Effective September 01 of each year, your affiliation with Badminton Alberta must be renewed.

Badminton Alberta offers a variety of membership categories available for purchase by individuals and clubs:

Two membership categories are available to assist in servicing the badminton community and to assist in promoting badminton as an OLYMPIC SPORT;
Membership is maintained through the office;
Registered membership provides individuals and clubs with the opportunity to contribute monetarily to the growth and promotion of the sport of badminton.

Membership Year: September 1 - August 31

FULL MEMBER - COMPETITIVE PLAYER/COACH/OFFICIAL

Cost: Youth 14 yrs & under - $38.10 / Adult 15 yrs & older - $40.00 (Includes GST)

FULL MEMBER affiliation with Badminton Alberta is designed for the active tournament player(s), coach(s), and official(s), as well as those individuals interested in financially supporting the association.

Membership benefits include:

entry information for BA sanctioned events;
Badminton Alberta members handbook, including a directory of Competitive members;
membership card;
discount rates at official Badminton Alberta hotels in Calgary and Edmonton;
$2,000,000 in liability insurance coverage at all BA sanctioned events;
organizational support for the growth and development of the sport within the province;
voting privilege for selection of Board of Directors and Annual General Meeting;
eligible to participate in provincial championships, Alberta Summer Games, interprovincial and national championships;
eligibility to take part in player/coach/official development opportunities sponsored by Badminton Alberta;
monitoring certification levels of coaches and officials.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Cost: Junior under 14 yrs - $19.05 / Adult over 15 yrs - $20.00 (Includes GST)

Again for the current season, clubs will voluntarily affiliate all members at the ASSOCIATE level. Associate individual affiliation is designed in an attempt for the provincial association to gain an accurate count on the number of Albertans experiencing the game either as a recreational or competitive athlete.

access to Badminton Alberta’s On-Line pro shop and home page:
participation in one sanctioned event before upgrading or additional fee is required;
$2,000,000 in liability insurance coverage at selected Badminton Alberta sanctioned event, excluding provincial championships:
discount rates at official Badminton Alberta hotels in Calgary and Edmonton;
requirement for inclusion in Alberta rankings.
