The Badminton Academy - Elite Training

The Badminton Academy also provides identified junior aged athletes the opportunity to train full-time throughout the fall/winter/spring sessions.

Through the use of a talent identification process and try-outs, Calgary Youth program coaches make recommendation and present the opportunity for athletes to recieve additional weekly training.

On-court trials will be held on Saturday, September 11th from 8:30am-1:00pm at Mount Royal College, Stanley Gym. All athletes interested in trying out must register in advance by filling out an on-line application form

Try out times:  Athletes born in 1998, 1999, 2000 from 8:30am - 10am; Athletes born in 1996, 1997 from 10am-11:30am; Athletes born in 1995 or earlier from 11:30am until 1pm

At the conclusion of the assessment day, players will be divided into three training groups based on their ability. Groups will have athletes assigned that are similar in age and development to ensure that training sessions will focus on topics that are challenging to all athletes and relevant to their level of skill acquisition.

Selected athletes must make the commitment to attend all training sessions and participate in selected junior tournaments.  Pro rating of fees due to missed classes will NOT occur.
