Obituary - Marjorie Baxter

BAXTER _ Marjorie Helen December 18, 1922 - May 8, 2008 Marjorie Helen Baxter of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the age of 85 years. Helen was born in Swift Current, Sask. on a Sunday evening. Her family moved to many locations throughout Canada as her father performed his duties as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Helen considered Weyburn, Sask. her home and was a proud graduate of its educational system. She followed her father's thirty-five year calling by serving thirty-six years with the RCMP as a highly respected stenographer. She took great pride in being able to greet members and veterans of the force by their regimental numbers even after her retirement. Helen was very involved with the Canadian and International badminton scene. She traveled to many different countries as an International badminton umpire and was always willing to lend her support to a sport she loved. She will be remembered for her cheerful personality and helpfulness to one and all. She leaves behind family and friends that she loved and relied on. Helen was predeceased by her father Frank Penhold Baxter; mother Daisy Caroline Baxter (O'Hare) and brother Frank Gilbert Baxter. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Union Cemetery.
