Eligibility:
All participants must be members in good standing with an association affiliated with the Badminton World Federation. Participants must meet the age requirements on the opening day of the Championships.
Your age is considered as of the start date of the event. Example: if you turn 45 in March of 2010, you are eligible for the over 45 category.
Masters athletes under the 65 age category may only participate in four (4) events regardless of age categories; however, only 2 events of the same discipline may be entered. The 65 and older age categories will be permitted to enter five events provided the tournament draw schedules are not adversely affected.
Eyewear:
Badminton Canada, Badminton BC and the Kelowna Badminton Club all strongly recommend that players wear protective eyewear.
Fees:
Please note: only the entry fee is mandatory. Please indicate in the memo section of the on-line entry form if you wish to purchase a spousal package and if you have any dietary requirements for the banquets.
Entry Fee: $165 Includes: unlimited shuttles, maximum of 4 events (5 for 65+ players), opening reception, 2 banquets
Social Package: $125, Includes all 3 social functions
Seeding and Draws:
Draws will be made by Badminton Canada. Seeding will be done by the Master’s Seeding Committee.
Entry Deadline:

Withdrawal Deadline:
The withdrawal deadline is midnight 7 days before the tournament to receive a full refund.
Players withdrawing after the deadline will not receive a refund unless they provide a medical certificate signed by a physician.
Players withdrawing from the tournament must contact their partners and the tournament chair.

Shuttles:
Unlimited shuttles will be provided.
Prizes:
Medals are awarded to winners, finalists and cosolation winners of each event
Dress Code:
Coloured clothing is allowed pursuant to BWF regulations. Shoes with non-marking soles must be worn.
Photography and Video Consent:
By registering for this event, you are agreeing to permit photographs and video to be taken of you (this could include use for promotional purposes by Badminton BC, Badminton Canada and The Kelowna Badminton Club).
Liability:
Participants agree not to hold the employees or members of the host club, Badminton Canada or Badminton BC liable for injury or loss associated with this event.
Defaults:
Players must be prepared to play their matches up to 30 minutes before their posted start times with due regard to the guaranteed 20 minute rest period between matches.
Players failing to report on court for their match within 10 minutes of the match being announced will be defaulted.
Defaulted players may not participate in consolation matches for the event in which they defaulted.
For example, a player who defaults their first match of the singles event is only ineligible for the consolation singles draw. They are eligible to be considered for consolation draws in doubles or mixed doubles events.
