CONDITIONS The competition is open to all athletes who are members in good standing with their provincial or territorial association. The competition will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada and the Badminton World Federation. All players must have paid the Badminton Canada Champions Club fee to play. REGISTRATION Wednesday January 30th, 2013 11:30 a.m.
SCHEDULE Wednesday: Opening rounds starting at 12:00 pm
Thursday: Continuation of play starting at 12:00 pm
Friday: Semi finals
Saturday: Finals starting at 13.00 pm.
EVENTS ‘Open’ events will be held in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Consolations will be held for all competitors defeated in their first round match of the main event. It will be the responsibility of each athlete to notify the draw desk, within 30-minutes of their opening round defeat. Consolation rounds offered time permitting
SHUTTLES Official shuttle will be the YONEX feather shuttle. Shuttles will be provided for all matches
ENTRY FEE ‘Open’ event - $125.00 (includes shuttles). On-line payment is required at time of on-line registration
ENTRY DEADLINE The entry deadline is Friday January 4th, 2013 at 11:59pm PST. Unpaid entries will not be included in the draws. Badminton Canada will be utilizing the Badminton Tournament Planner software allowing athletes to enter on line. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Entries received via mail, fax or regular email will not be accepted.
PRIZES Medals will be provided to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
SEEDING For the ‘open’ event as provided by Badminton Canada tournament seeding committee
RULES The 21- Rally Point scoring format will be utilized. Three-minute warm-up and ten minute default will be strictly enforced. The use of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play.
HOTEL Reference must be made to the ‘’Canadian Badminton Championship’’ to obtain special rates. Deadline to register is January 4, 2013. Special rates and rooms may not be available after January 4, 2013. Please register as soon as possible.
