COVID-19 UPDATE: Step 2 Easing of Restrictions

On Monday, March 1, the Government of Alberta announced the start of Step 2 easing of restrictions. Included in these measures, indoor fitness centres may resume low-intensity (yoga, pilates, rock climbing) individual and group workouts for adults, without a trainer.

High-intensity workouts, like badminton, are permitted for one-on-one or one-on-one household training only, with a trainer.  At this time, there have been no changes to the restrictions on badminton from the Step 1 easing of public restrictions that came into effect on February 8th.  A detailed summary of permitted badminton activities can be found HERE.

We will continue to provide updates as they become available. Badminton Alberta looks forward to continuing to work with all of our member clubs, partners and stakeholders throughout the province to ensure that a swift and safe reopening of badminton activities can occur.
