Board of Directors positions available

The affairs of Badminton Alberta are managed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

The Board consists of four Executive Committee members plus eight Regional Directors. Each of the eight zones (two urban and six rural)­ will be represented by one Regional Director.

Regional Director positions are available in odd numbered zones according to the enclosed map: Big Country – Zone 2; Parkland – Zone 4, Edmonton – Zone 6; and Peace Country – Zone 8. These positions are for a period of two years and will be appointed by the Board of Directors at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. Only current Badminton Alberta members residing in the respective zone may be nominated for a position, and or sign a Regional Director nomination form.

The Board meets on average twice per year to develop policy­ and implement bylaws necessary­ to ensure the growth and prosperity of the sport. The Executive Committee may meet as required in between Board of Director meetings.

Individuals interested in serving on the Board must be at least 19 years of age and be nominated by two actives members­ of the Association in good standing from that Region.

The Association also requires individuals­ to sit on a number of committees­; such as Governance, Audit/Finance, Membership/Zone Development, Long Term Development­ for Players, Coaches and Officials and Events.

Committees­ meet a minimum of once per year and may contain non-board members. Anyone interested in participating­ on one of the various committees is asked to contact the Executive Director at 403.297-2108.
