2026 Alberta Winter Games

Over 2,400 athletes, coaches, and technical officials, supported by over 1000 volunteers gathered in the Lakeland Region of Alberta in the towns of Bonnyville and Cold Lake to participate in the 2026 Alberta Winter Games, from February 13th to 16th. The Games brought together athletes from each of Alberta's eight sport zones to compete across several sport disciplines and represent their communities. At the end of the Games, the Alberta Cup was awarded to Zone 6 (Edmonton) for overall performance, the Minister's Cup was awarded to Zone 4 (Parkland) for showing the greatest improvement, and the Spirit of Sport Award was presented to Zone 2 (Big Country) for demonstrating the spirit of fair play, sportsmanship and team spirit both on and off the court.

The badminton events took place at Col J.J. Parr Sports Centre in Cold Lake and featured a team event and an individual event. 64 athletes took part in the events with the support of 16 coaches, 13 technical officials and several local volunteers and parents who contributed to making the event successful. Badminton Alberta congratulates all participants on their achievements and thanks the Lakeland Region host committee, Sport Alberta mission staff, volunteers, officials, and supporters for delivering a successful 2026 Alberta Winter Games badminton competition.
