Online Badminton Ladders

Badminton Alberta would like to introduce a free resource that will assist club organizers in preparing ladder draws.

Introduction:

BadmintonLadders.com was built to help promote the game of badminton in Canada and the United States. Hopefully, the site will aid players who seek a challenge and want to improve their game. By finding badminton players of similar or better ability, players can improve their game and can challenge others in their area who are also interested in the game of badminton.

How it works:

  • Sign-Up to create your account. You need an account if you want to join a ladder and issue challenges to other badminton players.

  • Find a badminton ladder in your area and join a ladder. Once you have joined a ladder, you may start issuing challenges. If the challenger wins a match, the challenger moves above his opponent in the ladder. If the challenger does not win both players stay in their current positions.

  • If you cannot find a ladder in your area, then you may want to create a badminton ladder for your city/town, school or club.

Badminton ladders may be created by anyone with an account on the site. The creator of a badminton ladder is also the Administrator. The Administrator of a ladder is responsible for the overall operation of the ladder; however, the system maintains rankings automatically and the Administrator usually only has to promote the ladder.

Ladders operate in one of two modes:

    • Automatic Mode
In this mode, ladder updates are performed automatically. That is, players may enter challenge results and ladder rankings will be automatically updated as players enter their scores. This is the mode most ladders will operate under.

    • Administrator Only Mode
In this mode, ladder updates may only be made by the Administrator (the person who created the ladder). This mode is meant for coaches or teachers who need to set-up a badminton ladder quickly. In this mode, players cannot directly join the ladder, instead, only the Administrator can add players and record match results.

How much does it cost?:

Nothing - this site is currently free, so have fun!!
