Coach, Team Manager, and Technical Officials Applications
Selection Process and Application Deadlines:
Process:
Applicants will be selected by a committee consisting of members from Badminton Alberta Board of Directors and Staff, and the Sport Coordinator of the event. The committee will ensure that the Coach and Manager are represented by opposite genders where required. The selection critera includes but is not limited to; event requirements, Certification level, coaching experience, regional/provincial/national competition coaching experience, Safe Sport/RCM training, and quality of organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills. Applicants should prepare a CV that highlights these criteria and provides reasoning for them being the best candidate.
Deadlines:
Arctic Winter Games: Sept 1 2025
Alberta Winter Games: Sept 1 2025
Canada Winter Games: TBD


Coach And Manager Roles:
- Assist Badminton Alberta in organizing and managing zone trial events and selection of athletes for position in zone team
- Assist Badminton Alberta in organizing and managing team training camps and other events
- Work together with IST professionals to deliver content to team
- Manage daily plan and activities during the event dates
- Manage arrivals and departures to and from Athlete Village and Competition Venue
- Responsible for health, wellness, conduct and behavior of team athletes
Coach and Manager Requirements:
- Reside North of 55th Parallel (AB Sport Zone 7 and 8)
- Coach and Manager must be opposite genders
- By applying for the position, agree to all conditions of fees, required time commitments, participation in events/camps and adherence to Badminton Alberta policies
- Acknowledge that any negative actions presented by a coach or manager, that negatively impacts the athletes, Team Alberta North, Arctic Winter Games, Badminton Alberta or the province of Alberta may receive disciplinary actions that may result in their removal from the roster.
- Must be 18 years of age or over
Technical Requirements:
- NCCP Competition Introduction - Regional Certified level or higher recommended, minimum Regional Trained certification level.
- Completed CAC Safe Sport Training, Rule of Two Training, Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation and Respect in Sport for Sport Leaders Course
- Completed a Vulnerable Sector Police Background Check and Sterling BackCheck
- A Member with Badminton Alberta with a Coaching License and in good standing

Technical Requirements:
- Minimum 1 coach per zone with NCCP Competition Introduction - Provincial Certified level or higher
- Completed CAC Safe Sport Training, Rule of Two Training, Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation and Respect in Sport for Sport Leaders Course
- Completed a Vulnerable Sector Police Background Check and Sterling BackCheck
- A Member with Badminton Alberta with a Coaching License and in good standing
Technical Officials Requirements:
- Recieved Officials Training - Regional Level Course
- Completed CAC Safe Sport, Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation and Respect in Sport for Sport Leaders Course
- Competed Sterling BackCheck
- A Member with Badminton Alberta with an Officials License and in good standing
- Must be 16 years of age or over

- Recommended NCCP Competition Development Certified level, minimum NCCP Competition Development - In Training certification level
