Conditions: The tournament is open to athletes born in 1998 or later for the U12 event, 1996 or later for the U14 event, 1994 or later for the U16 event, and 1991 for the U19 event. Alberta athletes must be members in good standing with Badminton Alberta. Non-members must purchase a Badminton Alberta competitive membership at the time of registration. Out of province athletes must be a member of their respective provincial association and be prepared to provide their provincial membership card and / or number.
 
Format: Single elimination main rounds with consolation events for all first round losers (time permitting).
 
Seedings: Draws prepared according to the latest Badminton Alberta rankings.
 
Rules: Prior to the semi-finals, the two minute break between games will be allowed but without coaching support. The 60 second break at 11 points will be allowed but without coaching support. Coaching will be permitted between the second and third game in all matches provided the player does not leave the court. Coaching from beside the court during the match will not be allowed at any time. Three-minute warm-up rules will be in effect. Default decisions will be made at the discretion of the tournament director. The tournament will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada and the Badminton World Federation.
 
Events: Singles and Doubles. Players may only enter one Singles and one Doubles event, regardless of age. No mixed doubles. Consolations in all events, time permitting. Please note: this event will be using the revised Badminton World Federation rally point scoring system. 
 
Schedule of play: Play will begin Friday, March 5th. at 2:00 pm and will finish with finals on Sunday, March 7th.. Draw times will be available on Wednesday, March 3rd. at 1:00 pm.
 
Attire: Only proper badminton attire and non-marking court shoes are allowed on courts. The use of protective eyewear is recommended.
 
Prizes: Medals are awarded to event winners.
 
Shuttles: Victor Blue feather shuttles will be used for all events.
 
Entry Fee: The entry fee of $40.00 for all age categories is payable on-line as you enter the tournament at www.badmintonalberta.ca Gift bags with Victor shorts for each entry. Eligible for draw of a Victor Super Waves 32 racquet.
 
Entry Deadline: Friday February 26th, 2010 at midnight MST.
 
Cafeteria: No outside food or drink permitted in the club. Clean, indoor shoes only beyond the entrance.
