YONEX Canada Open update

Badminton Alberta always strives to provide a high standard of quality, from our city programs up to our international competitions. For the past four years, Badminton Alberta has had the privilege of hosting the YONEX Canada Open in the Markin Macphail Centre at Winsport.

Since its inception, the YONEX Canada Open has been able to attract some of the biggest names in the sport. Badminton Alberta believes that this is because we put our all into providing the best experience possible for all parties involved in the event, including athletes, officials, volunteers, spectators and supporters.

This year, Badminton Alberta unveiled a new program to increase awareness for the YONEX Canada Open and to provide another avenue for generating support – The Badminton Alberta Patrons Circle. We are pleased to announce that it was a massive success. The Badminton Alberta Patrons Circle was able to generate a combined $52,000 from individual donors and corporations, nearly double the amount of funds raised from the previous year. The efforts of our supporters through the Badminton Alberta Patrons Circle was a critical piece to our successful execution of the 2018 YONEX Canada Open.

Those who joined us as partners this year, we could not have done it without you. We have high aspirations to grow the event every year, in the hopes that Calgary will be able to host a World Championships in the not-so-distant future!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

The Badminton Alberta Team
