Albertans have long shown overwhelming support for amateur athletics in making locally hosted national and international events possible for young athletes. In the fast-paced, exciting game of badminton, Alberta feeds off this support and regularly produces national champions. Having been selected to host the 2009 Canadian National Badminton Championships, Badminton Alberta invites you to showcase your company while doing your part for sport in Alberta.
The Championships will be held in Sherwood Park from May 4-9, 2009, bringing together national-calibre players of four age categories (u14, u16, u19, u23). A number of these athletes, including numerous highly ranked Albertans, will go on to represent Canada in the Pan-American Games and World Juniors, aspiring to be future Olympians.
Badminton Alberta is providing the opportunity for Alberta-based companies to become Sponsors of this event alongside Yonex and Westjet, our Title Sponsors. A variety of sponsorships are available to allow both small and large companies to get involved. Millenium Place is a superb facility for presenting a major event such as ours, with room for ten badminton courts, ample spectator viewing, and numerous on-site food service opportunities suitable for entertaining business associates and potential clients.
A major media campaign will be in place to promote the event within the Sherwood Park and Edmonton areas. Sponsors will be prominently displayed in print and other media.
